A Few Words About Me...
Me circa 1982 - little did I know the journey that lay ahead :)
I am an Irish Integrative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist practising in Wicklow.
I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa and moved to Ireland in 2004.
I hold an M.A. in Child & Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy and a B.A. Honours Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and qualified with a distinction in the BA Ordinary Level Degree Programme from the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP, Dublin).
During my Masters in Child and Adolescent Counselling I completed my Thesis that was entitled : Are they “Invisible Children” in an “Invisibly Violent System”? – A Qualitative Exploration of Service Providers’ Experiences working with Children Seeking International Protection in Ireland, I received a distinction and a copy of my paper and findings can be found in the blog section.
I work, in person, at the Wicklow Child and Family Project Centre, in Wicklow Town once a week, and work as an Affiliate Therapist from RISE Counselling in Kilcoole, Wicklow twice a week.
I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and am bound by IACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also committed to continuous professional development and attend workshops and seminars regularly to ensure I am as up to date as possible with issues that my clients might be struggling with.
